The dining experience at Chris’ Korean BBQ is as much about the interactive joy of grilling your meat as it is about the food itself. Diners appreciate the communal vibe of sitting around sizzling grills, where conversation flows as easily as the delicious, freshly cooked bites. The assortment of fresh banchan (side dishes) such as crisp, refreshing salads and vibrant kimchi serve as the perfect palate cleansers between bites.
One of the most memorable aspects noted by guests is the attentive and efficient service, even during the busiest times like Mother's Day. The staff's enthusiasm is infectious, from swiftly seating guests to guiding first-timers through the grilling process, ensuring a stress-free and enjoyable meal. Plus, the restaurant pairs its food with a curated drink selection including Sapporo Beer, refreshing Green Tea, and classic sodas that round out the meal perfectly.
Whether you’re a Korean BBQ veteran or trying it for the first time, Chris’ Korean BBQ provides a vibrant, flavorful, and welcoming destination. Michael Hunter sums it up best, recommending the 3 to 4 person meat menu that comes with all the essentials—salad, rice, your choice of soups, and glass noodles—making it an excellent value for a hearty meal.
From Heewon Lee’s appreciation of the tender, expertly seasoned brisket to Andres’ family celebration where the staff’s friendly guidance turned Korean BBQ into an accessible and delightful experience for everyone, it’s clear that Chris’ Korean BBQ captures the heart of Korean dining traditions with a Pasadena flair. Just be sure to book ahead or be prepared for a bit of a wait—this hotspot is worth every moment.
This is the place if you are hungry, have a huge appetite. The place to go if you like to sit at your table and cook your own meat. Ordering the 3 to 4 person meat menu is going to cost you about $30.00 a person not including beverages. You get salad with toppings, rice bowl, two souos to pick from, and glass noodles . Unless you made a reservation the day before it is likely you will wait about 20 minutes to get in. Service and the people working there were helpful and great. Food was also very good.
Classic option is the best and meat quality is good. Meat comes kinda slow but service is good other wise. Definitely will come back.
The service here was SO FAST! We signed in on Mother’s Day and got seated before we sat down to wait to be seated. We ordered our drinks in less than a minute and quickly got our food order in. We were grilling in less than 10 min from when we first stepped into the restaurant and it was PACKED. They really know how to run their restaurant. All the servers were hustling. They have this special dipping salt that’s a special umami flavor to it, oh man it made the beef brisket taste like butter. I need to find out what salt they used. It was such a great experience that we tipped 30%. Nice bathroom too.
It’s not easy finding a quality Korean barbecue spot in Pasadena, but Chris’ Korean Barbecue is a rare and welcome exception. The beef brisket was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of marbling to make each bite melt in your mouth. The marinated galbi (short ribs) was a standout—rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. The side dishes were decent and fresh, complementing the meal well without overshadowing the main event. The service was fast and efficient, with staff checking in regularly and keeping everything running smoothly. I did street parking, which wasn’t too hard to find, especially if you arrive a bit early. The restaurant has somewhat more family vibes rather than date vibes!
Celebrating my niece’s birthday. The food and experience here was best of best. This was my family’s first time trying/experiencing Korean bbq, we asked our waiter to explain to us how it works and it was a lot simpler than i thought, my niece had a blast here and although there was loads of food she did try everything and enjoyed it, the staff kept checking on us, refilling what we wanted. We also got the ribeye and was delicious we seasoned it with the salt mixture on the sauce try made it even better.
Good kbbq spot. Inside is simple and clean with tables and booths for seating. The classic ayce menu is good. Service was ok. Kinda slow but staff is friendly. There's a small parking lot in back or street parking but you might have to walk a block or two.
Great place in Pasadena. It was my first time. My party told me there are better options, but this one was good. They let us stay almost three hours, which is twice as long as the “time limit”.
